Triumph Award Categories and Criteria

 

Industry Champion of the Year Award

SUMMARY: An individual from any position within our industry that has championed our industry and has had a great overall impact on advancing our industry. Could be academic in nature, code driven, marketing driven, or whatever that has benefited the overall industry.

CRITERIA: The criteria will include, but is not limited to:

•Nominees can include individuals, companies or organizations whose accomplishments demonstrate outstanding commitment to advancing the metal construction and building industries.

•Open to individuals in any of the fields within the industry (i.e. political/legislative, environmental, scientific, academic, marketing, etc.)

•Recipient must have made notable individual contributions above and beyond commercial success.

•No minimum time period for recipient’s contributions, although preference will be given to those individuals whose contributions have had a lasting benefit

•Optional two letters of support and recommendation from other companies within the Metal Construction Industry, or a single nomination from an MCA, MBCEA, MBMA, NFBA member company.

 

Industry Young Movers and Shakers Awards

SUMMARY: Multiple Winners possible. For those under 35 who are up and coming in the industry and should be recognized as someone to watch.

CRITERIA: The criteria will include, but is not limited to:

•The individual clearly serves as a role model for young men and women personally and professionally.

•The individual is an emerging leader who demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in his/her business or profession.

•The individual provides valuable service to their company and is establishing an influence on the industry

•The individual is between the ages of 25 and 35.

•The individual works in the metal construction or building industry

•Provide statement from company management that verifies contribution and position

•Must be nominated by company that nominee is currently employed with

•Optional letters of endorsement from customer in the past 12 months

 

 

Industry Media Executive / Journalist of the Year Award

SUMMARY: Recognizing someone from the media who has made a significant impact on our industry through media and journalism.

CRITERIA: The criteria will include, but is not limited to:

•Showcase excellence in your industry as a media executive or journalist

•Demonstrates a deep understanding of the metal construction and building industry and shows a commitment for providing innovative, unbiased, and positive media coverage for the industry

•Brings recognition to the industry through multiple media outlets

• Optional letter of nomination from the editor or publisher for journalist noting the contributions and achievements of the nominee; or optional letter of nomination from an industry member of a media executive

•Five samples of the nominee’s work

 

Industry Sales Person of the Year Award

SUMMARY: Recognizing a sale professional who has had the greatest impact on their company.

CRITERIA: The criteria will include, but is not limited to:

•Number of years in position with current company

•Consistently sets and exceeds goals

•Has made a significant financial impact on their respective company

•Recognized by peers, customers, and others as a customer relationship-builder

•Has a successful and consistent sales record

•Strong presenter in a group or one-on-one

•Meets and exceeds clients' deadlines

•Understands the competitive landscape

•Manages the "cost" hurdle as a partner

•Knows how to close

•Understands and applies marketing prowess in sales

•Must be nominated by company that sales professional is currently employed with

•Optional letters of endorsement from customer

 

Entrepreneur of the Year

SUMMARY: Recognizing an individual who was the original founder of a company in our industry (contractor to manufacturer to building system) who has who has built a successful company.

CRITERIA: The criteria will include, but is not limited to:

•Winners of the Triumph Entrepreneur awards should demonstrate the best traits of entrepreneurship, including willingness to take risk, drive, perseverance, etc.

•Entrepreneur must be the founder of the business

•Company must operate and produce a significant portion of their business in the Metal Construction or Building industry

•Business’ origin should include vision, risk and creativity

•Entrepreneur’s company should be profitable

•Company demonstrates innovative employee programs and corporate culture

•Company should have demonstrated ability to overcome adversity

•Company should have demonstrated significant growth and long-term potential.

•Entrepreneur has founded more than one startup

•Company has received national or international recognition

•Optional letters of support and recommendation from other companies within the Metal Construction Industry, or a single nomination from an MCA, MBCEA, MBMA, NFBA member company

 

Corporate Citizen of the Year

SUMMARY: A company that has shown commitment to bettering the world outside of their normal business through their involvement and dedication to a cause or charity. MCA Triumph Awards will recognize a company in the Metal Construction and Building Industry that has made a notable contribution to the quality of life of others in their community or nationwide. This can take the form of employee volunteers and/or corporate financial support for those activities that enrich, protect or benefit other citizens.

CRITERIA: The criteria will include, but is not limited to:

•Involvement in community programs, activities or services (i.e. charities, youth programs, food banks, etc.)

•Developing partnerships with the public sector, not-for-profits and the community to enhance community services and community life (collaborative efforts)

•Achieved recognition of commitment outside of the nominee's area of business

•A documented, long-standing commitment to corporate citizenship as a preferred way of doing business (longevity of corporate giving)

•Corporate citizenship must be a shared value of the company, visible at all levels

•Corporate citizenship must be integrated into a successful business strategy

•Company must demonstrate individual involvement in the efforts to benefit others without compensation as a core guiding principle

•Newspaper/magazine articles

•Corporate sponsorship literature from events

•Other corporate citizenry awards

•Optional letters of support from organizations or individuals that have directly benefited from the corporate support, photos, pamphlets, etc.

 

 

The Emerging Business of The Year Award

SUMMARY: This award will recognize a new company in our industry that has demonstrated achievement of the following criteria and had an exceptional previous 18 months.

CRITERIA: The criteria will include, but is not limited to:

• Nominee must be an active business within the Metal Construction Industry.

• Nominee must have been in business for at least 2 and no more than 5 years.

• Nominee must have demonstrated one or more of the following characteristics: Successful product launch and potential for growth, Revenue generation, Innovative products or services that have impacted the industry, Provides exemplary customer service.
