A Catalyst for Change in Colorado

Catalyst Health-Tech Innovation in Denver was created to be an industry integrator, bringing together major healthcare systems, doctors, universities, non-profit groups and startups to foster partnerships, communications and solutions to common challenges. The brainchild of the first-of-its-kind project calls it a blend between a co-working space and a healthcare innovation ecosystem.

The building is a hub in Denver’s bustling River North District, an area rich with businesses, restaurants, artist studios and more.

The seven-story, 190,000 square-foot building was designed by The Beck Group. The design was intended to create what they call “serendipitous collisions” – interactions between people from different companies where they exchange meaningful ideas. Those interactions could take place in the building’s open atrium lobby, going up or down one of the wide staircases, in the community kitchen, working out in the fitness facility, taking in the view of the Denver skyline from a balcony, or grabbing a cup of coffee in the street-level café.

Historic mixed with industrial chic

The exterior of the building is described as blend of historic Colorado and chic, based on results from a 50-question survey sent to 500 people in the community.

Part of that industrial chic look includes the use glass, brick and insulated metal panels. More than 14,000 square feet of Kingspan Optimo Wall Panels finished in pewter were used on the Catalyst HTI exterior. Optimo architectural panels deliver a flat, modern look while meeting the demand for a high-performing building envelope. They are GREENGUARD Gold certified and can now be ordered with QuadCore Technology, Kingspan’s next generation of self-blended hybrid insulation core.

Insulated metal panels provide a modern look

More architects are discovering that insulated metal panels can be an integral part of a distinctive, modern aesthetic, while contributing to thermal performance, speed of build and an extended building life cycle.

Performance is an important element for the Catalyst HTI owners, as they are pursuing WELL certification for the building.

Catalyst HTI opened in July 2018, with plans for a second building in the future.
